Putin and Erdogan Officially Launched the 'TurkStream' Gas Pipeline
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan officially opened the 'TurkStream' gas pipeline today.
The official ceremony took place in Istanbul, attended by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov.
In his speech, President Putin emphasized that the opening of the pipeline is a significant event not only for Russia and Turkey but for the entire European continent as well. He remarked that the implementation of the 'TurkStream' project demonstrates the substantial outcomes of Russian-Turkish cooperation.
The gas pipeline, stretching under the Black Sea, was constructed over five years. Through it, Russia can supply more than 30 billion cubic meters of gas annually to Western Turkey, as well as to Central European countries, including Bulgaria, Serbia, and Hungary.
