Once Grateful to Me, He Later Imprisoned Me: Babayan Publishes Correspondence with Arman Babajanyan

Arsen Babayan, the former Deputy Chief of Staff of the National Assembly, posted on his Facebook page: “Once, he was grateful to me, and I was a valuable person to him, very precious. Then he found happiness when I was illegally imprisoned based on his false report. This informer from 1937 published a fragment of our conversation from years ago (thus crossing the red lines of morality) and claimed that I was asking him for a job. From the very publication of that conversation, it becomes evident that I wasn’t seeking a job from him, although I don’t see anything wrong in wanting to take up a position.”

“I also see nothing wrong in him being much more direct in asking me for a job, unlike me. Of course, I can’t behave like him, I can’t disregard the norms of morality and publish more intriguing parts of that same conversation; that is not characteristic of me, and he knows me well enough to be sure that I won’t do that, which has also prompted him to act this way.”

“In the end, I want to confess that I truly feel uncomfortable having ever been close to Arman. You are all scolding me for that now.”
