Iraq calls on the US and Iran to show restraint and respect Iraqi sovereignty. The crisis in the region could turn into a devastating war. This was stated by the press service of Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, as reported by TASS.

“We have called and continue to call for restraint, the preservation of international laws, and the respect for Iraqi sovereignty and its government's decisions. We urge to help contain and overcome this serious crisis that threatens the region and the world with a destructive, all-encompassing war,” the statement reads.

According to TASS, Iraq has been warned about upcoming attacks and precautionary measures have been taken.
