Prepare Sausage, I'm Not Saying Don't Make It: Prime Minister Meets with Koti Residents

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is making a tour in the Tavush region today. During his greeting to the residents of the Koti community, one of the locals told the Prime Minister that he is in a very difficult financial situation and Pashinyan's advice is not helping him. He said, 'I have been paying a 22 percent loan for 20 years, I am a sick person. You say to turn 2 cows into 4, but I sell one of my 2 cows to pay the interest. I want us to be granted interest-free loans. The interest is too high, at least take into account that this is a border village. We are already weak, we have been in the same situation for 20 years.'

The Prime Minister responded that this is a matter between two private parties; nonetheless, he promised to clarify the problem: 'It depends on the loan story; I can't say. One thing is certain, it's not that they are asking for it; the person is going around looking for help.'

Another resident declared that he won't be putting pork sausage on the table this year, in accordance with the Prime Minister's advice. In response to this statement, the Prime Minister said, 'Prepare sausage to the extent that it will be consumed, and then don't throw it away. Prepare sausage; I'm not saying don't make it. I'm saying let's make enough so that it gets consumed, and then we won't throw it away. Any food has its shelf life. We are making a mistake by cooking it on the 31st, eating it for a month, and then asking if there is a doctor in Koti.'

It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister is accompanied by Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Suren Papikyan, Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan, Tavush Governor Hayk Chobanyan, and the Prime Minister's wife Anna Hakobyan. They also visited the communities of Koghb and Baghanis today.
