Acting Director of NSS Visits Border Troops

On December 30, the acting director of the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, Colonel Eduard Martirosyan, and Deputy Director, Major General Aram Hakobyan, visited the management body of the Border Troops (BT) of the NSS.

As reported by the NSS press center, Eduard Martirosyan congratulated the personnel of the border troops on the New Year and Christmas holidays, extending well wishes to the servicemen and their families. He expressed gratitude to the leadership and personnel of the border troops for their achievements during the current year, noting that in the near future, the border troops will be equipped with necessary new technical means, which will further enhance the quality of service in the important task of protecting the homeland's borders.

Martirosyan emphasized the importance of increasing the salaries of border troops servicemen, stating that issues regarding additional pay corresponding to the rank of border service personnel at the checkpoints have already been resolved.

He also mentioned that the construction of a new building for the Debedavan border checkpoint will be completed in January 2020, and soon renovations of other border checkpoint buildings and the construction of auxiliary structures will commence.

At the training center for service animals of the border troops, a demonstration exercise was held, during which service dogs showcased their skills in detecting explosive materials.
