VIDEO: Police Immediately Called for Ambulance - Details of Incident in Gyumri

On December 27, a Facebook user published a post stating that a dispute occurred between a traffic police officer and a violating driver in Gyumri. During the incident, the driver's health deteriorated, and the traffic police officer allegedly did not call for an ambulance. Reportedly, the officer accused the driver of pretending to be unwell to avoid the penalty for the violation. According to the post, the man was taken to the hospital by his son, who arrived to assist.

At the medical facility, the man was pronounced dead. The user's post was also featured in one of the online news outlets.

An investigation by the internal security department of the police revealed that a 63-year-old man was driving a taxi on the opposite side of the road on Khri'myan Hayrik Street in Gyumri. The traffic police officers on duty stopped the vehicle. The driver attempted to prevent them from documenting the administrative violation.

The report was filed; however, the driver refused to sign it and returned to his vehicle. At no point did the driver complain about his declining health. Subsequently, a passenger approached the traffic police officers and informed them that the driver's health had worsened.

The investigation established that the traffic police officer immediately contacted the ambulance service via radio and personal phone. Notably, two calls from the traffic police officer and three calls from the police department's duty office were recorded at the ambulance station. The man was transferred to the hospital by the ambulance that arrived based on the traffic police officer's call.
