VIDEO: Illegal Weapons, Drugs Including Methadone - Results of Police Operation
The police have previously stated their commitment to combatting criminal behaviors effectively. The goal is to ensure that among our society, especially youth, the concepts of 'criminal subculture' are substituted with principles of public coexistence that serve as exemplary and educational.
In this context, on December 27, the staff of the police's regional division for Lori province carried out another operation. Several dozen individuals were detained under various suspicions in the areas of Taron, Bazum, Spitak, Stepanavan, Tashir, and Tumanyan. During personal searches and inspections of suspicious vehicles, illegal firearms were discovered, including a 'Makarov' and other foreign-manufactured handguns, over ten cold weapons, as well as various types of drugs, including methadone.
Police in Lori have conducted verification visits to possible gathering places of individuals linked to criminal subculture. Officers from the police's General Department of Criminal Investigation and the General Department of Special Investigations were involved in the operations.
Once again, we emphasize that the police are relentless in combating the causes and environment that lead to crime. Everything is being done to eliminate criminal subculture and to root the principles unique to civil society.
