Vardenyats Pass Closed for Trucks
Closed and Difficult Roads
The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that as of December 28 at 12:00, there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the Republic of Armenia.
The Vardenyats Pass (from the Gegharkunik province) is closed for trucks and difficult to navigate for passenger cars. The Sotk-Karvachar road is difficult for all types of transport.
There are patches of black ice on the Vardenyats Pass (from Vayots Dzor province), on the Gorayk-Zanger road, and on the roads in Hrazdan city of Kotayk province.
Regarding the Lars situation, according to information from the Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia's North Ossetia, the Stepanavank-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
Construction Work
Construction work is underway on the Vanadzor-Alaverdi-Bagratashen road, resulting in the road section being closed for trucks. An alternative route has been established: Dilijan-Noyemberyan-Bagratashen.
