Video: Henrik will decide what to do next after seeing his mother's treatment, Tashchyan

Marina Tashchyan, the mother of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a midfielder for Roma and the Armenian national team, commented on the selection of the president of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) during a live broadcast on AuroraNews. She noted the election of FFA Secretary General Armen Melikbekyan to that position.

It should be recalled that after the FFA presidential elections held yesterday, Marina Tashchyan called the elections a disgraceful show during a conversation with reporters: “This was a disgraceful show, not elections. Everything had been arranged beforehand, and there was nothing left to do here. During the elections, I realized what was happening. I had never seen such a disgraceful thing in football. They had met with all the clubs, and I don’t know what conditions they offered the clubs. I had been nominated by 'Renewed Pyunik,' and they did everything to suspend the activities of that NGO. Perhaps I was getting in their way. Football will not develop in this state. Armen Melikbekyan speaks very beautifully; we will see what he will do. If they decide that Henrik should not be invited, let them not invite him. There have been such discussions,” Tashchyan said.

When asked whether she is concerned that all of this will directly affect Henrikh Mkhitaryan's future cooperation with the FFA and how the player has commented on the elections, Tashchyan stated: “I don’t want to involve Henrik in all this; he plays abroad. He has a significant contribution to Armenian football, Henrik is not playing for the management, he plays for the nation. He will decide what to do next upon seeing how his mother is treated,” Tashchyan said.
