Director of ‘Spayka’ Company Recovers Around 3 Billion, Charges Expand
According to Pastinfo, the volume of charges against David Ghazaryan, the director of the ‘Spayka’ company, has been expanded, and he is accused of failing to fulfill tax obligations amounting to approximately 4.5 billion drams. Over the past months, he has already recovered around 3 billion drams as partial restitution for the damages caused.
It is worth reminding that on April 4, David Ghazaryan was charged under part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code. Ghazaryan has stated that he does not accept the charges, evaluating the actions of the State Revenue Committee as persecution. He was arrested on April 8, and his defense sought to have him released on bail, which was denied.
On May 3, he paid 1 billion drams into a deposit account, essentially accepting the charges, after which the supervising prosecutor decided to change his preventive measure due to the grounds for detention being eliminated. Pastinfo has learned that after May, he paid another 2 billion drams.
The investigating authority has sent inquiry requests to various countries to verify the supplied goods and their prices, leading to additional charges.
It turns out that goods were shipped to different countries, concealing their true nature from the Armenian tax authorities in order to pay lower taxes.
