Three People in Stable Serious Condition Following Collapse at Military Commissariat

On December 19, at 15:35, the "911" service received an alert about a collapse that occurred in the building of the N1 Military Commissariat located at 19a Halabyan Street in Yerevan. There were casualties and the assistance of rescuers was needed.

Rescue teams from the Ministry of Emergency Situations’ special rescue operations center, two firefighting teams from Yerevan’s rescue department, the operational and response groups from the National Crisis Management Center, a psychological advisor from the psychological support division, and the on-duty doctor from the Disaster Medicine Center were dispatched to the scene.

It was found that part of the floor (approximately 30 square meters) had collapsed in one of the rooms (used as an auditorium) on the first floor of the two-story building at the Military Commissariat located at 19a Halabyan Street. Before the rescuers arrived at the scene, one individual had already been hospitalized at Armenia Medical Center.

To clarify the situation, the operational group from the National Crisis Management Center went to the Armenia Medical Center, where it was confirmed that those hospitalized included Erik V. (born in 2001), Hayk M. (born in 2001), Arthur M. (born in 2001), Khachatur T. (born in 2001), Grigor T. (born in 2001), Mihran A. (born in 2001), Zhora A. (born in 2001), Rafik M. (born in 2001), Ashot I. (born in 2001), Hayk M. (born in 2000), Tigran H. (born in 2001), Artashes N. (born in 2001), Anahit A. (born in 1957), and Naira M. (born in 1974).

Doctors have assessed the health condition of Naira M., Hayk M. (born in 2001), and Erik V. as stable but serious, while the others, after receiving appropriate medical assistance, have been discharged.

Rescuers secured the area and extracted three individuals from the room adjacent to the collapsed section of the assembly hall.

The relevant authorities, including representatives from the State Urban Development, Technical and Fire Safety Inspectorate of Armenia and the State Urban Development Committee, have been informed about the incident.
