Students Clash at Informatics College; 16-Year-Old Hospitalized with Injuries
Police in the Arabkir district are investigating an altercation that occurred yesterday, December 19, in Yerevan.
At approximately 5:50 PM, the "Saint Astvatsamayr" Medical Center notified Arabkir police that a boy had been admitted with a diagnosis of "nasal injury." According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group from Arabkir police, led by the juvenile affairs inspector, was dispatched to the hospital.
Police have identified the injured individual as 16-year-old Dmitri S., a resident of Yerevan, who is a student at the State College of Informatics in the Arabkir administrative district. Authorities also determined that he was brought to the hospital from the college located at 52 Mamikonian Street.
While medical personnel were providing assistance to the child, Arabkir police, led by the department head Armen Vatyan, established that the altercation occurred earlier that same day, around 11:30 AM, in one of the classrooms of the college. The confrontation was between Dmitri S. and his peer, 16-year-old Armen S. from the Armavir region, during which Armen S. struck Dmitri S. multiple times with his hands and feet. As a result, a forensic medical examination has been ordered by the investigator.
