Given a shoebox, told it's where your child was dismembered: Citizen's alarming report

On April 2, 2017, Naïra Aivazyan, a resident of Spitak, gave birth to a baby boy via cesarean section at a republican maternity hospital, as reported by Aravot.am.

The outlet notes that despite her claim that the child was stillborn, doctors assessed the child's health as satisfactory. “They said, ‘Mom, don't worry, your baby is very good, healthy.’ The next day I went to see my baby, but they didn’t let me visit, saying the doctors were in a meeting in the morning. On the third day, the pediatrician called me, asking who was coming to visit me; I said it would be the wife of a priest, and gave them her phone number. They took it and called her, telling her, ‘Your child has died.’ They then showed my baby in a fish tank from 5 meters away, and nothing more. We always suspected we were deceived.”

Naïra Aivazyan shared the grounds for her suspicions with the media. According to her, there was another mother in the same room at the maternity hospital from Artashat, who had given birth to a stillborn child, while another mother in the same room had a healthy baby. “They sold her baby, gave me hers because they discharged that mother, but they kept the baby in the intensive care unit for a month, even though she had a normal delivery. Why were they keeping the baby for a month, while giving me the deceased child of another mother? We requested DNA testing back then, filed a report about the crime, but after six months, the case was closed. They gave me a shoebox, can you imagine? A mother is given a shoebox and told, ‘This is where your child is dismembered, you cannot see them.’ We took samples from it. I buried that box. The Deputy Director of the maternity hospital, Arshak Jerjerian, went to the forensic center for some reason and said, ‘We have serious financial problems, we can't go get the body, let them call us and ask if we agree to bury the body in an unmarked grave.’ Now I’m demanding DNA testing, let them come, excavate the grave, take out that shoebox, see what they put inside it and perform DNA testing. I have direction on where my child is. How this other mother's child will be given to her, they know already. I have their Facebook details; I follow that child's pictures every day, I compare and resemble them with us.”
