Fire Breaks Out on Road Leading to Georgia's Border
On December 20, at 11:20 AM, the "911" service received a report that a fire had broken out on the road leading from the village of Privolnoye in the Lori Province to the border with Georgia, in an area known as "Gayi Drunk." Two firefighting units and an operational group from the regional emergency management administration were dispatched to the scene.
It was determined that approximately 400-500 hectares of vegetation had burned in the area referred to as "Gayi Darpasner," located at the 35th kilometer of the Tashir-Privolnoye-Georgia border road. The fire was contained by 6:12 PM. However, operations were halted at 9:30 PM due to darkness.
A total of 21 rescue workers, 5 forestry employees, and 4 residents of Privolnoye participated in the firefighting efforts.
