During the signing ceremony of the 2020 defense budget, U.S. President Donald Trump will officially announce the creation of space forces. Mark Esper, the head of the Pentagon, provided this information to RIA Novosti.

"The President will announce the creation of space forces on December 20, when he signs the defense budget. In the coming weeks, we will provide additional details about the implementation and timelines of the program," Esper stated.
