Several NSS Generals, Colonels and Lieutenant Colonels Awarded

The President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, has issued a decree awarding several employees of the National Security Service (NSS) with medals.

According to the Public Relations Department of the Office of the President of Armenia, the decree states: “Based on the Prime Minister's recommendation, in accordance with Article 136 of the Constitution, and Article 5.3(1) of the Law on State Awards and Honorary Titles of the Republic of Armenia, on the occasion of the Day of Employees of National Security Bodies, for the courage and dedication shown while performing their official duties, several employees of the National Security Service have been awarded the 2nd class medal 'For Services to the Fatherland':

• Arthur Ivanovich AGHAJANIAN, Head of the Investigation Department of the NSS, Colonel
• Levon Vazgenovich SHAHUMYAN, Head of the NSS Department, Colonel
• Karen Garibovich GARIBYAN, Head of the Main Department of the NSS, Colonel

“For Courage” medal:

• Yesai Yuri MKRTCHYAN, Head of the NSS Department, Major General
• Vahan Gagikovich TADEVOSYAN, Head of the NSS Administration, Colonel

“For Combat Service” medal:

• Nairi Hamleti MARGARYAN, Acting Head of the NSS Department, Colonel
• Hrant Paveli AGHASARYAN, Head of the NSS Department, Colonel
• Georg Minasyan, Authorized Representative of the Republic of Armenia at the CIS Counter-Terrorism Center, Colonel
• Karen Hrachik ALEKSANYAN, Deputy Head of the NSS Department, Lieutenant Colonel
• Samvel Varuzhany GRIGORYAN, Head of the NSS Department, Lieutenant Colonel
• Grigori Sureni ARAKELYAN, Head of the State Protection Service Division, Lieutenant Colonel
