It Doesn’t Matter Who Executed It and for What Purposes, Such Behavior is Unacceptable: Makunts

I do not know who could be behind these attacks, but I am confident that, regardless of the identity of those guilty, law enforcement will manage to discover them in a short period of time and take all necessary measures for that.

This was stated by Lilit Makunts, the head of the parliamentary faction of the ruling 'My Step' alliance, in an interview with NEWS.am, commenting on the attacks organized on the editorial office of the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper and the Armlur.am website.

According to her, this crime cannot be justified in any way. 'It doesn’t matter who executed it and for what purposes. Such behavior is unacceptable,' emphasized Makunts, adding that it is crucial to identify the malefactors and their motives, as this could clarify a lot and help understand what really happened.

Simultaneously, the head of the parliamentary majority expressed concern over the fact that offenders often mask themselves and justify their actions with various statements, proving to the public that they previously participated in certain social movements and political processes, including the 2018 revolution. 'But after all, the values of the revolution do not betray violence; the revolution rejected all of that, and therefore, further actions cannot be justified in any case,' said Lilit Makunts, hoping that those guilty will receive severe punishment for their actions.

It is noteworthy that on the night of December 19, the editorial office of the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper and the Armlur.am news portal were attacked.
