Yerevan Metro to Surprise Passengers on New Year's Eve
The Yerevan Metro will operate all night on New Year's Eve, continuing until 6 AM the following morning. Gevorg Avetisyan, the acting director of the Yerevan Metro, shared this information in an interview with Sputnik Armenia.
Typically, the metro in Yerevan runs until 11 PM, with the last train departing at that time. However, during festive periods, it sometimes operates until 1 AM (as it did, for instance, during the Night of Museums on May 18). This year, on New Year's Eve, the metro will operate until 6 AM, and on January 1, it will open at the usual time of 7 AM. This means the metro will run almost continuously with just a one-hour break.
The New Year's events will kick off on December 31 at 10 PM with a concert featuring Armenian stars. At 11:45 PM, a festive message will be delivered by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, from the square.
After midnight, world-renowned musician and composer Goran Bregović will perform with his orchestra.
