Interesting Violations Revealed in the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that the Audit Chamber has conducted inspections at the social security service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, and the results have revealed numerous discrepancies and distortions.

One of the most remarkable findings is that six male individuals received maternity benefits totaling approximately 1.5 million drams. The Audit Chamber has suggested that the social security service implement internal control systems in the State Revenue Committee (SRC) and the National Security Service (NSS) that, when cross-referencing with the BPR databases, would exclude male individuals from accessing the maternity benefit system.

Additionally, multiple cases of a single individual receiving burial benefits have been uncovered. For instance, six individuals received 103 burial benefits, amounting to a total of 20 million 600 thousand drams. Notably, one person received 69 burial benefits totaling 13.8 million drams, another received 17 benefits worth 3.4 million drams, one person received five benefits totaling 1 million drams, and three individuals received four benefits each, amounting to 800 thousand drams.
