About the BBC's Manipulative Article: Suren Sargsyan
American expert Suren Sargsyan has addressed a BBC article on his Facebook page, which states that the Trump administration does not consider the mass killing of Armenians in 1915 as genocide.
“Regarding the BBC's manipulative article:
- Trump has not spoken about the genocide at all after the two congressional resolutions.
- There is no reference even in the material.
- The US embassy in Turkey has stated that the administration's position has not changed as a result of the resolutions.
- No administration's position has changed in the last 40 years.
- Trump is the only president in the last approximately 30 years who has promised nothing to Armenians and therefore has not 'betrayed' them.
- In the House of Representatives, Trump not only did not hinder but also supported the adoption of the resolution.
- In the Senate, at the request of the White House, three vetoes were applied, but they were temporary.
- The first time was because Erdogan was still in Washington, and the next two times were because they were trying to negotiate with the Turks on specific issues, which did not succeed.”
