New Developments on Housing for Serzh Sargsyan

The newspaper «Hraparak» reports that the issue of providing housing to Serzh Sargsyan has "frozen." The state is obliged to provide housing to former presidents of Armenia, and now also to prime ministers, which has already been done in the cases of Levon Ter-Petrosyan and Robert Kocharian. Several options have been proposed to Serzh Sargsyan, but his security service has rejected them.

He has preferred to reside in a private house in Dzoraghbyur, which belongs to a caretaker. There are also rumors that businessman Kamo Avagumyan is constructing a house for him near the NSS reception house in Monument.

Yesterday, we inquired whether the government had made a new offer to the third president of Armenia, but we were unable to contact the government staff. The Republican Party informed us that no new offer has been made, and it appears that the matter has been suspended.
