From December 11 to 14, 2019, a delegation led by the President of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, Hayk Grigoryan, was on a working visit to the Republic of Belarus. This was reported by the Department of Information and Public Relations of the RA Investigative Committee.
During the visit, a working meeting of the heads of the Investigative Committees of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, and the Russian Federation was held in the city of Brest. The main objective of the meeting was the international round table discussion organized in Brest, dedicated to the training of personnel in investigative bodies and current issues regarding judicial procedures aimed at crime prevention.
During the round table discussion, Hayk Grigoryan, the President of the RA Investigative Committee, delivered a welcoming speech, emphasizing that from the very beginning of the activities of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, the relations with the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation and the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Belarus have been trustworthy and constructive, as confirmed by the effective international-legal cooperation of the investigative committees of Armenia, Belarus, and Russia.
“Today, we can confidently talk about the continuity of targeted and multifaceted cooperation between our agencies in the field of crime fighting. During the work of this round table, contemporary issues regarding the organization and provision of professional training for the staff of investigative bodies are planned and subject to discussion, as well as issues related to investigative prophylactics as a promising direction of forensic activities. I am confident that the exchange of opinions, information, as well as accumulated experience will contribute to enhancing the effectiveness of pre-trial proceedings, and the proposals and results concerning joint work will be useful and targeted towards improving the legal application practices of our countries' investigative committees. The social welfare of society, which is based on the triumph of law and justice, is ensured by the professionalism of investigators, from whose meticulous fulfillment of their service duties depends the level of human legal security and the inevitability of punishment for committed crimes. That is why the topics presented at the round table discussion are timely and very important,” emphasized the President of the Investigative Committee, Hayk Grigoryan.
Reports were presented at the round table discussion by the acting head of the Forensic Department of the RA Investigative Committee, Rafael Vardanyan, and the head of the Department for the Investigation of Cyber Crimes and High-Tech Crimes, Robert Adilkhanyan, discussing a number of issues related to legal application practices.
