Major Fire: 61-Year-Old Homeowner Hospitalized with Burns
On December 15, at 11:23 PM, the emergency services in Armenia received a report indicating that a house was burning in the village of Geghhovit, Gegharkunik Province. A firefighting crew was dispatched from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
It was determined that the fire started in house number 12 on First Street in Geghhovit. The fire was contained by 11:35 PM and extinguished by 11:55 PM. The fire damaged the kitchen's suspended ceiling (approximately 9 square meters), laminate flooring (about 3 square meters), partially a sofa, and the entrance and kitchen doors.
Before the rescuers arrived at the scene, a resident of the house, 61-year-old Astghik S., was hospitalized with various burn injuries at Martuni Medical Center, where doctors assessed her condition as satisfactory.
