Haypost Employee Embezzled Citizen's Pension

The investigation by the Tumanyan Investigative Division of the Lori Regional Investigative Department of the Republic of Armenia's Investigative Committee concerning the embezzlement and forgery case involving a senior operator of Haypost LLC has concluded. Charges have been filed against the individual.

According to the collected data during the investigation, a woman born in 1954, who worked as a senior operator at a Haypost postal division from 2015 until July 1, 2019, utilized her official position to sign for pension payments on behalf of a resident of Alaverdi who was absent from their residence. She embezzled a significant amount of pension funds, totaling 91,146 AMD, which were entrusted to her. This amount was then used for her personal needs.

Based on the accumulated evidence, the employee of Haypost LLC has been charged under Article 179, Part 2, Point 1, and Article 325, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. A preventive measure has been selected for her in the form of a signature not to leave the country. The damage caused to the state has been fully compensated by her.

The completion of the preliminary investigation has been declared, and the criminal case has been sent to court with an indictment conclusion.
