Flights to Vienna and Vilnius to Begin in April 2020, Prices Starting at €25
Wizz Air will commence flights to Armenia starting next year, as announced by Marcelo Vanden, the director of "Armenia International Airports," during a press conference. “I am confident that this will be very good for Armenia. Wizz Air plans to operate flights in different directions,” he stated.
András Radó, the corporate partnerships manager of Wizz Air, noted that Wizz Air conducts its flights using only Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, which are the most modern in the industry. “We operate point-to-point flights and do not offer connecting flights. Tickets are sold online, and people will not have to go to a travel agency to purchase tickets,” Radó explained.
According to him, one of the company's advantages is that customers will only pay for the services they wish to receive. “Unlike other airlines, if you don’t need luggage or food, you don’t have to pay for that; if you have a 10 kg suitcase, you only need to pay for that,” he emphasized. Radó pointed out that all this will lead to the affordability of flights and consequently lower costs for passengers.
He announced that starting from April 2020, the airline will operate flights in two directions: Vienna and Vilnius, twice a week. “Prices will be very low, starting from €24.99; you can already book online,” he added, mentioning that flights will be conducted from Yerevan.
Discussing the company's future, András Radó indicated that in several years, they will have 300 aircraft and plan to make the largest purchase of Airbus aircraft in history. “When we have 300 aircraft, we will be able to transport 100 million passengers, we will have 10,000 employees, with 2,000 new hires each year. We expect an annual profit of €1 billion,” he concluded.
