Extraordinary Incident in Yerevan: Youngsters Fired Multiple Times at Police Vehicle in Nazaberkyan District

The investigative department of the Mashtots Police Station is preparing materials regarding the gunfire incident that occurred on December 13 in Yerevan. Around 08:30, officer K.N. from the 1st platoon of the 3rd special battalion of the patrol police reported to the Mashtots Police Station about shots fired at a parked Hyundai vehicle in the Nazaberkyan district.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group from the Mashtots Police Station, led by department head Pavel Ordoyan, arrived at the scene. It was revealed that between 18:00 on December 12 and 08:00 on December 13, shots were intentionally fired at a police vehicle registered under the number Hyundai 449 II 02, causing damage to the right side windows, the right front and rear fenders, as well as the trunk cover.

According to G. Shamshyan, officers from the criminal investigation department of the Mashtots Police Station carried out necessary operational and investigative measures and identified that the act was committed by 26-year-old Vardan Adamyan, a resident of the same district. Thanks to the explanatory work of the police officers, V. Adamyan voluntarily appeared at the Mashtots Police Station and confessed that he had fired seven shots at the police vehicle from his friend's vehicle, owned by 29-year-old Roman Khachatryan, using a firearm, without any provocation.

Fortunately, there were no injuries from the gunfire. According to G. Shamshyan, the police have recovered the firearm.
