Emergency Situations Ministry to Operate Reserve Duty Groups During Holidays

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia held its regular weekly meeting of the Rescue Service, led by the Service's Director, Major General Vrej Gabrielyan. This was reported by the public relations department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The heads of various subdivisions of the Emergency Situations Ministry and the directors of fire and rescue departments in Yerevan and the regions reported to the director on ongoing construction works, issues that have arisen during service, and existing problems.

Vrej Gabrielyan instructed the directors of the fire and rescue departments to organize the implementation of holiday duty shifts and additional works to ensure the safety of the population related to New Year events. He also ordered the establishment of a secondary reserve duty group that would respond quickly if the need arises.

Depending on weather conditions, temporary bases may be established in certain regions of Armenia as required. The head of the logistics and material support department and the heads of regional structures were tasked with checking and supplying the bases with necessary equipment and goods.

The director of the Rescue Service reiterated that upon receiving a fire alarm, the responsible personnel for the operational duty must verify information about available water resources near the fire's location to organize firefighting efforts effectively.
