Drug Smuggling Incident Prevented in Prison Hospital
On December 15, around 1:00 PM, an incident of internal smuggling occurred in the vicinity of the Republic of Armenia's Ministry of Justice 'Prison Hospital' correctional facility. This was reported by the Ministry's Penitentiary Service.
As a result of an immediate inspection carried out by the officers, a polyethylene package was discovered, which was secured with duct tape and featured a screw and a battery for added weight. Inside the package, there were a syringe filled with 8 ml of a yellow liquid, which resembles anhydride and is of unknown origin, likely psychoactive; 10 white pills weighing 0.1 grams each; and substances that resemble drugs, totaling 16.6 grams and resembling opiates, as well as a white mass weighing 1 gram, comparable to methamphetamine.
Materials are being prepared regarding the incident. A forensic chemical examination has been ordered.
