Black Ice and Fog: Road Conditions in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of December 16 at 08:30, there are difficult road conditions across Armenia.

The Sotk-Karmiravan highway is open for all types of vehicles, while trucks are permitted only with the use of snow chains.

Black ice is present in patches on the Vardenyats Pass and the Sotk-Karmiravan highway. In the village of Lanjik in Shirak province, fog is reported.

Regarding the Lars section, according to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepanstminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
