Armenian President Discusses Cooperation Expansion with Qatar Airways Chief

During his working visit to the State of Qatar, the President of the Republic of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, met in Doha with Akbar Al Baker, the CEO of Qatar Airways.

According to the public relations department of the President’s Office, the meeting focused on the prospects for expanding the company’s cooperation with Armenia. Welcoming the direct air connection and the successful operations established by Qatar Airways between the two friendly countries, President Sarkissian proposed to discuss the possibility of increasing flights and considering Armenia as a transit hub.

The CEO of Qatar Airways expressed willingness to explore avenues for expanding cooperation with Armenia, noting that the warm friendly relations between the two peoples, as well as between President Sarkissian and the Emir of the State of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, provide a solid foundation for further collaboration.

Discussions also included the company’s operations, challenges, and upcoming plans.
