Another Scandalous Incident: Taxi Driver Demanded 30,000 Dram for Transfer from Airport

On December 15, police officers from the Central Division of Criminal Investigation, in cooperation with the 1st platoon of the 1st company of the Patrol Service of Yerevan, summoned 44-year-old Sahar Gulizandeh, an Australian citizen temporarily residing at the "National" Hotel in Yerevan, to the police headquarters. It was revealed that on December 14, an individual posing as a taxi manager at the Zvartnots Airport arrival hall deceived Mr. Gulizandeh and took 30,000 dram as a fare to transfer him to the "National" hotel complex located on Amiryan Street.

Police officers from the Central Division of Criminal Investigation identified the impostor as 29-year-old Gor Martirosyan, a resident of the Parakar village in the Armavir region. After a series of explanatory talks conducted by the police, he voluntarily presented himself at the police station, provided a confession regarding the incident, and was subsequently released.
