The temporary head of the Ararat regional police administration, Artur Zakaryan, and officers from the criminal investigation department of the Artashat division, led by chief Ruben Nersisyan, received operational information that a goat head registered in the Red Book, a Bezoar goat, was found at the home of Horen Muradyan, a resident of the village of Azatavank.

According to Gagik Shamshyan, a photo journalist from Ararat region, the police officers from the Ararat regional police administration, the Artashat division, and the Ararat division, under the guidance of temporary head A. Zakaryan, Chief of Police R. Nersisyan, and head of the Ararat division Samvel Khmelian, conducted joint operational measures leading to the discovery of the Bezoar goat head with its skin.

According to G. Shamshyan, the police determined that Edgar Sargsyan, a 24-year-old resident of Vedi, fired his "Vepr 5.45" rifle at the Bezoar goat around 3 PM on December 11 at a place called "Kotobulakh," located about 2 km from the village of Dashtakar. Subsequently, he skinned and transported it home.

G. Shamshyan reported that E. Sargsyan works in the Ararat division of the police as a police officer in the patrol police squad; the next day, he transported the Bezoar goat to the home of H. Muradyan in Azatavank using his VAZ 2107 vehicle with the license plate 36 AV 676 for processing.

Investigations are underway at the Artashat division to gather materials related to the incident.
