Three Cases of Residential Burglary Discovered in Yerevan
The investigation department of the investigative committee of the Republic of Armenia announced that as a result of extensive investigative and procedural actions conducted as part of a criminal case in the Arabkir administrative district of Yerevan, three cases of residential burglary have been uncovered.
An accusation has been filed against a 38-year-old resident of Armavir, according to the information and public relations department of the RA investigative committee.
According to the data obtained during the investigation, between November and December 2019, the resident of Armavir, born in 1981, entered three apartments in Yerevan under the pretext of being a Social Affairs Ministry employee, claiming to provide social assistance, and unlawfully entered the homes. Taking advantage of the homeowners' negligence, he stole various amounts of money.
Based on a sufficient combination of evidence, the 38-year-old man has been charged under part 1.1 of article 177 of the RA Criminal Code (3 episodes). The investigator has submitted a motion to the court to apply pre-trial detention as a measure of restraint, which has been granted. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
