Surik Papikyan to Participate in the 'Global Forum on Refugees' in Geneva
The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Surik Papikyan and the head of the Migration Service of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Armen Ghazaryan, will travel to the Swiss Confederation for a working visit from December 16 to 18 to participate in the 'Global Forum on Refugees' in Geneva.
According to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, this is the first forum since the adoption of the Global Compact on Refugees by the UN General Assembly. It aims to alleviate the burden on countries receiving refugees.
During the visit, several discussions are planned to address the creation of conditions for the safe and dignified return of refugees to their countries of origin, as well as to discuss several key issues related to refugeehood. Approximately 300 delegations and other stakeholders from various countries are expected to participate in the forum.
