Jermuk Will Not Become Chernobyl: Naira Zohrabyan

NAIRA ZOHRABYAN, a member of the National Assembly from the My Step bloc, posted on her Facebook page: “You will not use force against the people, and Jermuk will not become Chernobyl.”

"A short while ago, I was informed by residents of Jermuk and my colleagues that representatives from various government bodies have started negotiations with the Jermuk residents and activists who are holding the positions at Amulsar to unblock the area.

"Residents who contacted me are concerned that there might be the use of police force in the coming days to break through the blockade of Amulsar. I believe that those who attempt to apply force against citizens defending their rights must fully understand the potentially disastrous consequences of their actions. The residents of Jermuk and the surrounding villages have responded to all kinds of 'invasions' sent to them: Jermuk will not become Chernobyl. Don’t take steps that will lead to disastrous consequences. Use of force should never be applied under any circumstances."
