Japanese Government Grants Over $46,000 to 'Yerevan My Love' Foundation
Today, a memorandum was signed between the 'Yerevan My Love' Foundation and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to Armenia, during which a children's integration room will be established at the 'Lusé' rehabilitation center.
Arshak Karapetyan, the director of the 'Yerevan My Love' Foundation, indicated that this memorandum marks the beginning of a new collaboration. 'Through this memorandum, we aim to have a children's integration room at the 'Lusé' rehabilitation center, which will be unique in terms of sensory integration across the entire republic. The necessity for this room is particularly important for children with autism,' said Karapetyan.
Armenia's Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Zaruhi Batoyan congratulated all the children and parents for whom the children's integration room has been created. 'Centers like these are very important for ensuring the right of children to live within the community. Taking steps in this direction is one of the policies of our state. We must take measures to ensure that children are not isolated from their peers due to disability or social issues. Having such centers in the community is a prerequisite to help both the children and the professionals who work with them, as well as the parents,' noted Batoyan.
Japanese Ambassador to Armenia Jun Yamada, welcoming attendees, expressed his pleasure in attending such a memorandum signing ceremony. 'I am pleased to announce that the grant support of $46,213 from Japan, within the framework of the 'Human Security' program, will now serve the establishment of a sensory integration room at the 'Lusé' center in collaboration with the 'Yerevan My Love' Foundation. The room will create a safe and favorable environment for children,' stated Yamada.
He noted that the program aims to assist children with special needs in managing their emotions and improving their independent living skills. After the solemn signing ceremony, the director of the 'Yerevan My Love' Foundation presented a framed photograph of himself, taken during another project of the foundation.
