Expert Examination Assigned Regarding the Painting of Griboedov's Statue

An expert examination has been assigned regarding the painting of the statue of Russian former diplomat and writer Alexander Griboedov by Shahen Harutyunyan, located in the Circular Park of Yerevan. This was reported by Zarsand Gabrielyan, an employee of the police's press department, in response to a query from "Armenian Time": "An examination has been appointed to determine the extent of the damage caused, and the response has not yet been received," he noted, adding that the investigation is ongoing.

It is worth reminding that Shahen Harutyunyan announced on the evening of December 2 on his Facebook page that he had painted the statue of Griboedov, who was the ambassador of the Russian Empire and a writer, in red, stating it was in response to the painting of the plaque dedicated to Nzhdeh. Following this announcement, preparatory materials were initiated at the police department.

The next day, Shahen Harutyunyan was summoned to the Central Division of the Police to provide an explanation regarding the incident.
