Charges Filed Against 6 Employees of Gogavan-Privalnoye Customs Point: Details
The Investigation Department of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia has established charges against six employees of the Gogavan-Privalnoye customs point, based on the materials of a criminal case initiated under the first part of Article 205 of the RA Criminal Code on November 22 and December 4, 2019.
On the same day, a decision was made to initiate a criminal case under the first part of Article 308, the third part of Article 311, and the first part of Article 312 of the RA Criminal Code, and to consolidate it into one proceeding.
Subsequent preliminary investigations on the aforementioned criminal case have continued since December 7, 2019, at the Special Investigation Service of Armenia. An investigative group was formed following the directive of the Prosecutor General of Armenia, which included investigators from both the Special Investigation Service and the Investigation Department of the State Revenue Committee.
During the preliminary investigation, factual data was obtained indicating that employees of the Gogavan-Privalnoye customs division, driven by personal and selfish interests, abused their official powers, resulting in significant damage to the lawful interests of the state. In addition, officials engaged in public service received bribes to commit obviously illegal actions, specifically to evade the payment of established customs duties.
Based on the sufficient evidence gathered during the investigation, charges were filed against T. H., Head of the First Division of the Gogavan-Privalnoye customs point, A. A., Chief Customs Inspector of the same division, V. Sh., Head of the Second Division, T. S., Head of the Fourth Division, and E. F., Head of the Third Division, for actions specified in the first part of Article 308 of the RA Criminal Code, while G. P., a customs inspector of the First Division, has been charged for offenses under the first part of Article 308 and the second part of Article 311.
