Armenia's Foreign Minister Discusses Azerbaijan's Gross Violation of Ceasefire with Kasprzyk

On December 13, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh, Masis Mayilyan, met with the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk. According to the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Artsakh, the situation along the contact line between the armed forces of Artsakh and Azerbaijan was discussed during the meeting.

In this context, Masis Mayilyan addressed the gross violation of the ceasefire regime by Azerbaijan on November 29, which resulted in serious injuries to Rafael Azizyan, a soldier of the Defense Army. The Foreign Minister emphasized that such incidents further demonstrate the necessity of implementing the obligations undertaken to establish mechanisms for international monitoring of the ceasefire regime.

The interlocutors also discussed the outcomes of the reciprocal visits of journalists from the Republic of Artsakh, the Republic of Armenia, and Azerbaijan organized through the mediation of the OSCE Personal Representative's office from November 17 to 21. Masis Mayilyan highlighted the importance of ensuring that such initiatives serve a purpose beyond themselves, aimed at fostering an atmosphere of trust between the parties, which is crucial for advancing the peace settlement process.

In this context, the Foreign Minister noted that the recent actions of the Azerbaijani side, particularly the memorandum disseminated by Azerbaijan at the OSCE on December 3, contradict the logic of initiatives aimed at creating a climate of trust.
