Ankara's Response: Senate Resolution Will Cause Long-Term Damage to Turkish-American Relations

The adoption of the Senate resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide of 1915 in the Ottoman Empire is an irresponsible step that will cause long-term damage to Turkish-American relations. This was stated by Fahrettin Altun, the head of the communications department of the Turkish presidential administration, as reported by RIA Novosti.

“The resolution will bring no good to Turkey-U.S. relations... It will go down in history as the irresponsible and irrational actions of certain members of the U.S. Congress against Turkey. They will bear the responsibility for causing long-term damage to the relations between the two countries,” he wrote on Twitter.
