A Monument to Hovhannes Tumanyan to be Installed in Tbilisi

The Embassy of Armenia in Georgia is actively working on the installation of a statue of Hovhannes Tumanyan in the Yerevan Park of Tbilisi. As reported by Armenpress, this was announced by Ruben Sadoyan, the Ambassador of Armenia to Georgia, during the presentation of the books "Ten Tales," "Tumanyan-150" (both in Armenian and Georgian, side by side), and "Tumanyan Illumination" (in Georgian), dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Tumanyan's birth, organized by the Ministry of Culture of Georgia.

"We want to ensure that the statue of Tumanyan is installed in Tbilisi this year. We have preliminary agreement with the city hall, but there are certain issues regarding the site. The Yerevan Park, where the statue will be placed, is owned by several individuals, and we are currently negotiating with the owners to definitely install Tumanyan's statue there. I think it wouldn't be right for Tbilisi to be without a statue of Tumanyan," concluded Sadoyan.
