Court Submits Third Request to Detain Vahagn Harutyunyan
The Special Investigative Service has supplemented the charges against Vahagn Harutyunyan, who is accused in the March 1 case, with new details and has submitted a third request to detain him to the court. Two court sessions for the case have been scheduled at the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction for October 10 and 11, but these have been postponed. This information was reported by Hetq.
Although the charges have been supplemented with new details, there has been no change in the articles attributed to Harutyunyan. He continues to be accused of falsifying evidence in the March 1 case and abusing official powers, leading to serious consequences due to negligence. Additionally, he is charged with exceeding official powers, which was accompanied by violence.
Harutyunyan has been on the wanted list for over a year. A few days ago, his lawyer, Mihran Poghosyan, approached the Attorney General and the head of the SIS, stating that he wishes to return to Armenia and requesting the removal of related technical obstacles. The application, in fact, was aimed at terminating the arrest warrant against Harutyunyan, but the SIS rejected the request to lift it.
