The Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople Has a New Patriarch
On the morning of December 11, Sahak Bishop Mashalyan was elected as the 85th Patriarch of the Armenians in Constantinople. A gathering of 103 community delegates and 17 clergy representatives took place at the Patriarchate.
Out of the 103 lay delegates elected by the community, 89 supported Sahak Mashalyan, while 12 backed Aram Ateshian.
