Fog and Black Ice: Road Conditions in Armenia

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of December 11 at 09:00, the roadways in the Republic of Armenia are generally passable.

The Sotk-Karvachar road and the Vardenyats pass are open to all types of vehicles, while heavy trucks are permitted only with the use of chains.

Black ice is present in certain areas along the Sotk-Karvachar road, Vardenyats pass, and the Saravan-Zanger stretch. In Ashtarak, a city in the Aragatsotn Province, fog has been observed.

Regarding Lars, according to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open to all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
