Details on the Death of a Newborn at Vardenis Hospital

On December 10, a case of a child's death was registered at Vardenis Hospital. The Ministry of Health reports that, according to information received from the Vardenis Medical Center, a pregnant woman arrived at the medical facility at 04:35 on December 10, indicating that she did not feel the fetal movements. An ultrasound was conducted during which fetal heartbeats were heard, and no signs of labor were observed, thus there was no need for intervention, including surgical intervention.

However, due to the indication of uneven pains in the lower abdomen, the pregnant woman was directed to Martuni Maternity Hospital for further examination. She was admitted to Martuni Maternity Hospital at 7 a.m. It was diagnosed as intrauterine fetal hypoxia, resulting in a cesarean section. The fetus was delivered; however, despite extensive resuscitation efforts, its life could not be saved.

After receiving information about the mother’s condition, the Ministry of Health immediately began organizing her medical assistance and, if necessary, air transport. However, due to unfavorable weather conditions, a resuscitation mobile unit from Erebuni Medical Center was sent to Martuni Maternity Hospital with a resuscitation team. Later, they were joined by Vahe Gyulkhasyan, a consultant for obstetrics and gynecology from the Ministry of Health, and candidate of medical sciences, obstetrician-gynecologist Vruyr Grigoryan.

Together with the specialists who arrived from Yerevan, all necessary measures were taken to save the woman's life. Throughout the process, consultations were held with leading experts in Yerevan. After stabilizing her condition, the woman was transferred to the resuscitation unit of Erebuni Medical Center.

Her condition is now stable, and her life is not in danger. The details of the case will be investigated, and a professional report will be provided if necessary.
