Budget Lacks Funds to Retain Judges, But Is There Money for Non-working Judges' Lifelong Benefits? - Petrosyan

On December 11, during a briefing at the National Assembly, Gagik Petrosyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia faction, announced that they would introduce several legislative initiatives aimed at increasing the number of judges in the courts.
The parliamentarian predicted that the proposal would be rejected due to the lack of funds in the budget. “There is no money in the budget to retain judges, yet there is 630 million drams available for providing lifelong benefits to non-working judges? Tomorrow, the Court of Appeals or the Court of Cassation will demand to have that privilege as well. If you are not granting it, then it is discrimination. Who is going to answer for that?” stated the parliamentarian.
