Video: Individual Who Assaulted MP's Friend and Issued Threats Detained and Arrested

On December 9, MP Karen Sarukhanyan made a post on his Facebook page, reporting that hours earlier in Gyumri, two individuals assaulted his friend and threatened that he would be next. This was stated on Facebook by Edgar Janoyan, the Deputy Head of the Public Relations and Information Department of the Armenian Police.

“A report regarding the incident was received at the Mush division of the Gyumri police. Police officers, undertaking operational investigative measures, identified the individuals involved in the incident. A 30-year-old man known by the nickname “Sheko,” a resident of Gyumri, was located and taken to the Mush division of the Gyumri police around 10 PM. Measures are ongoing to identify the other participant in the incident. A criminal case has been initiated on charges of hooliganism, and the detained individual has been arrested. The circumstances are being clarified through the investigation,” he added.
