The Internet Continues to Mock Hrachya Hakobyan's Statement
The internet continues to discuss the recent statements made by MP Hrachya Hakobyan. Recall that yesterday, during the discussion of the issue regarding the "Reduction and Prevention of Health Damage from the Use of Tobacco Products and Their Substitutes," he expressed the thought that "all smokers should become exiles."
Today, the My Step MP clarified that he meant "isolated," explaining that the term "exile" was suggested by someone in the chamber, and he repeated it. Hakobyan acknowledged the criticisms directed at him: "The word 'isgoy' (isolated) would have been more appropriate, which did not come to my mind at that moment... I stirred up quite a fuss on Facebook for 24 hours."
In response to reporters' questions, the MP also noted that he does not smoke at home or at work, and continued: "I don’t smoke in the daylight, I don’t smoke alone; the only place I smoke is with friends at some café where it is permitted."
