The Catholicos Attended the Year-End Summary Meeting of the Armenian Round Table Foundation
On December 10, His Holiness Garegin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, brought his blessings to the participants of the year-end summary meeting of the Armenian Round Table interchurch charitable foundation of the World Council of Churches, held at the "Garegin A" Educational Center of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
The meeting commenced with a united Lord’s Prayer and remarks by His Grace Bishop Mushegh Babayan, chairman of the board of trustees of the foundation. Bishop Mushegh emphasized the importance of the diverse projects implemented by the Round Table foundation, as they bring together representatives of the Church and various civil organizations around a single idea. According to the Bishop, the foundation's activities embody the essential message of Christ to love one another.
Following this, His Holiness Garegin II conveyed his patriarchal blessings and messages, reflecting positively on the fruitful activities of the Round Table foundation established by the Mother See and the World Council of Churches over the past 22 years, serving the needs of our people and homeland in partnership with various organizations. His Holiness emphasized the effective collaboration with different structures of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and dioceses.
“During these years, we have followed the activities of the Round Table foundation and want to highly appreciate the dedication and spirit of commitment that prevails within this organization. Through its work, the foundation responds to all the issues present in our public life, seeking to provide useful service to our people, grounded in the Church’s perspectives and positions,” stated the Supreme Patriarch.
His Holiness particularly highlighted social and educational programs aimed at comprehensive community development, the project “Armenia and Neighbors” geared towards the reestablishment of peace in the region and the reconciliation of peoples, as well as training and experience exchange courses organized in favor of the pastoral mission of clergy.
Dr. Karen Nazaryan, the foundation’s executive director, also addressed the meeting. Reports on the foundation's activities were presented according to its areas of operation.
The event was attended by members of the foundation's board of trustees, representatives of partner organizations, as well as Michael Johannes Banzhaf, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Armenia, Andrea Victorin, the newly appointed head of the European Union delegation, monastery members of the Mother See, clergy serving in the dioceses, and representatives of civil organizations.
