Putin to Visit Turkey
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced during a press conference with reporters the dates of Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Turkey. According to ermenihaber, Erdoğan stated that Putin will arrive in Istanbul on January 8, 2020, where he will participate in the opening ceremony of the "TurkStream" gas pipeline.
In response to a journalist's question about Russia's position on the Libya issue, Erdoğan noted that he wishes to have a phone conversation with Putin about this topic this week. The Turkish President expressed his desire to discuss the matter of Libyan Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar with Russia, as long as the Libya issue does not turn into a "new Syrian problem."
